DROMI & THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS.

Dromi, Dr. Rhoda Makinde initiative is an NGO primarily dedicated to women empowerment. It is and NGO with a vision to transform thousands of women through evidence based programs that focus on expanding women’s political participation through an integral approach that promotes gender equality in the society.

We have successfully organized free skill acquisition training in various places like Abuja, Lagos, Akure, Osogbo, Ibadan, Ondo, Warri and many other location in Nigeria and the impact have been deep and profound.

Our mission is to uplift families and promote values by empowering women for selfsustainability and to ensure that they discover themselves, regain their sense of pride and become relevant in the society, Our frees skill acquisition program offers women a lifetime opportunity of training in skills that can make them economically relevant, financially stable and be able to contribute meaningfully to their families and the society. Our interest free loan scheme for market women has lifted over five thousand market women out of unemployment and has empowered them to live more productive lives.

Also in the same vein, our women empowerment scheme that has provide thousands of women artisans with different equipment such as sewing Machines, hair dryers and many more has provided jobs for women across many cities and communities.

Our medical intervention initiative successfully executes medical missions in remotest part of Ondo State. Many villages that have not seen Government’s presence for many year breathed a sigh of relief has both young and old benefited from the medical intervention.

On education (SDG4), the DROMI education intervention has paid school fees of many poor students, distributed free textbooks and school bags to thousands of pupils across schools in Ondo communities.

It Is instructive to note that DROMI is wholly personally funded by the founder Dr. Rhoda Makinde, a woman with irrevocable commitment and indescribable passion to empower women, lift them out of poverty and make life meaning for them.

DROMI AIM To be a vehicle for achieving sustainable development through deliberate action that promote the welfare of women and children by giving them equal access to opportunities and empower them to achieve the best for themselves, family and society.

  • The AU-ECOSOCC NIGERIA (through Dr. Tunji Asaolu) used the occasion of International Women's Day 2020 to organize a day workshop on the 10th of March on the theme: "Adopting the Strategies to domesticate the "African Union Decade (2020 to 2030) of African Women's Financial & Economic Inclusion in Nigeria". The aim is to enhance efforts towards the Economic empowerment of African women within the Context of the UN Agenda 2030 and AU Agenda 2063”. Pan African Icon & AU AGENDA2063 AMBASSADOR.
