HAMDROMI PLAYED HOST TO OVER 2,000 SCHOOL GIRLS; DISTRIBUTES DIGNITY KITS AND OTHER GIFT ITEMS.

On Saturday, 21st of May 2022 at The Oba Adesanoye Civic Centre Ondo, Hon. Abiola Makinde; The Member House of Representatives representing Ondo East and West Federal Constituency in conjunction with his Wife, Dr. Rhoda Makinde; the Executive Director of Dr. Rhoda Makinde Initiative [DROMI] received over 2,000 secondary school girls across Ondo East and Ondo West as attendees and beneficiaries of the "Girl Child" programme themed "The Girl Child; Our Pride".
The glamorous event was graced by academicians, business and career people and other notable people in the society who has done incredibly well in their various fields as women and as motivation for the girl child.
Dr. Rhoda Makinde; The host in her speech vehemently spoke against girl child marriage, molestation, abuse and bullying. She totally condemned the case of Late Deborah Samuel; a female student who was killed and burnt in Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto State as an unacceptable incident, also sending her condolences to the family of the deceased.
Her Royal Majesty, The Olori of the Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, Olori Kiladejo in her goodwill message lauded the efforts of the Honourable and his wife for their impact and good representation of the people of Ondo Kingdom. She also underlined the importance of educating our young girls for better life beyond peer pressure and other environmental factors.
One of the guest speakers, Mrs. C. Olotu; the Acting Director, Guidance and Counselling, Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo in her speech "The Girl Child and Sex Education in the 21st Century" highlighted the impact of sex education on the girl child and also about factors that can expose the girl child to sexual behaviours.
Also, the second guest speaker, Mrs. Dare Bosede; a medical personnel in her speech "Health Management with Teenagers" gave a detailed speeching on personal hygiene of the girl child and ways to ensure healthy living.
Dignity kits with items like Disposable pads, Reusable pads, body cream, slippers, combs, hand towels, toothbrushes, cotton bud, tissue paper, soap, kit bags, spaghetti, noodles and other items were distributed to all beneficiaries as souvenirs.
Raffle draws and other different types of educational competitions; quiz, spelling bees, word formations etc were also part of the lined up programmes with different gift items like scientific calculators, Fancy Water Flasks, Food flasks, Wipes, Dictionaries, Reading Lamps, Rubber Flasks, Mugs, Novels, Pens, Socks, higher education notebooks, School Bags etc distributed to the winners of the competitions and lucky winners of the raffle draws.
